Following on from last year’s sold-out Elizabeth Gaskell Tour, Ed Glinert (of New Manchester Walks and author of the Manchester Compendium) now takes us on a journey round the local landmarks that featured in the varied and bohemian life of Anthony Burgess. Best known for his novel A Clockwork Orange, Burgess authored over 30 books as well as many critical works and musical compositions. The coach and walking tour will finish at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation with a special talk given by the centre’s director and Burgess biographer, Dr Andrew Biswell, and an opportunity to have lunch in the centre’s café. Book early as places are limited.
