Manchester Literature Festival and BBC writersroom are delighted to host a Face 2 Face event with Stephen Butchard, one of the leading screenwriters of his generation. Stephen Butchard is a multi-award-winning screenwriter who was born and lives in Liverpool. His most recent work for BBC One includes Stolen, a new feature-length drama about child trafficking in Britain, and Five Daughters, the factually based drama telling the stories of the five young women who were tragically murdered in Ipswich in 2006, and, for BBC Two, House of Saddam, a drama charting the rise and fall of Saddam Hussein. Creator of Vincent and Always and Everyone, his other credits include Tell Me Lies, Lenny Blue and Little Bird for Granada.
This is your opportunity to put questions to Stephen, who will be in conversation with Kate Rowland, Creative Director of New Writing at the BBC. This event is run in partnership with BBC writersroom to offer professional insight for emerging scriptwriters.
