In collaboration with Literature Across Frontiers, we are delighted to present some of the foremost young poets from Latvia and Macedonia, published in English translation by Arc Publications in their 'six poets' series New Voices from Europe and Beyond. Poet and painter Anna Auziņa has published three collections, most recently Es izskatījos laimīga (I Looked Happy) and is the recipient of the Klāvs Elsbergs Prize and the Preses nams Book Award. Poet and translator Kārlis Vērdiņš has published three collections and his work has appeared in several European languages. Both are featured in the forthcoming anthology Six Latvian Poets. Two of the Six Macedonian Poets are Lidija Dimkovska, author of five books of poetry and recipient of the German prize Hubert Burda for younger Eastern European poets, and Igor Isakovski, poet, prose writer, translator, editor, and founding director of the Cultural Institution Blesok.
