Jeffrey Eugenides will be reading from his new novel, The Marriage Plot – one of the most eagerly awaited books of the year – discussing his life and work with DJ/writer Dave Haslam, and signing books. His highly original debut The Virgin Suicides (1993), about the suicide of five sisters, was made into a film by Sofia Coppola. The follow-up, Middlesex (2002), a wonderful and moving story with an intersex hero, an ambitious structure and a sublime prose style, won Eugenides the Pulitzer Prize. This event is part of Dave Haslam’s Close Up series of onstage interviews; his previous guests have included writers Jackie Kay and Jonathan Franzen.
