Head and shoulders shot of comedia and author Jo BrandPal Hansen

THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED

Jo Brand’s hilarious, forthcoming guide to life, Born Lippy: How to do Female, is packed with memorable anecdotes from her life and career, coloured by her experiences as a psychiatric nurse and working mother of two, and offers advice on everything from how to survive your family to heckling as a life-skill. Jo has written the BAFTA winning series Getting On (set in an NHS hospital geriatric ward) and The Damned (exploring the tragic-comic lives of social workers), hosted several TV shows including the award-winning Through The Cakehole, and made legendary appearances on many others including Have I Got News For You. Her acerbic and deadpan one-liners about the female condition have formed an essential part of British comedy over the last twenty years. Come and hear Jo discuss her new book, her colourful career, and her thoughts on feminism, the #MeToo movement, mental health and the 70th anniversary of the NHS. Hosted by poet and comedian Kate Fox.

Doors open 7pm and the event starts at 7.30pm prompt.

Tickets £15 or £29 for ticket & a copy of Born Lippy. Books will be available for collection from Waterstones bookstall on the night.
