Two of our finest gay poets meet for a special event. Acclaimed American poet, Mark Doty (My Alexandria) has long been celebrated for his risk and candour, and his ability to find transcendent beauty even in the mundane and grievous. His latest collection, Deep Lane, is a book of descents: into the earth beneath the garden, into the dark substrata of a life. Yorkshire poet Andrew McMillan (Physical) has been labelled the poet of masculinity; exploring the body, sex and sexuality. His new collection, Playtime, is a deeply personal look at how childhood and adolescence shape our adult identities. Mark and Andrew will read their work and talk to each other, in what’s sure to be an illuminating conversation.
