A firm Festival favourite, Patrick Gale is the author of eighteen novels, including the Richard and Judy bestseller Notes from an Exhibition, Rough Music and the Costa-shortlisted A Place Called Winter. His new novel, Take Nothing With You, tells the story of Eustace as he looks back at the childhood cello lessons that transformed his life. While they allow him the freedom to explore his sexuality outside of his stifling home, he’s oblivious to the effect they’re also having on his mother, and the terrible consequences that will follow. We’re thrilled to welcome Patrick to read from and discuss his latest novel with author and MLF Patron Erica Wagner.
