Read It, Watch It, Talk About It

seats in the cinema

Do you like films? And reading? Then Read It, Watch It, Talk About It could be just for you. This brand new group meets monthly to watch films that have been adapted from books. Think Hunger Games, Harry Potter and Twilight and you're on the right lines. Though as well as watching the adaptations we all know so well this group will also delve into films and books that might not be...

Each screening is followed by an informal discussion about what the group think of the film and how it compares to the book it has been inspired by. To make things even more interesting group members are able to borrow copies of each book before / after the screening so they can get a true feel of how each different story has made the transition from page to stage. Where possible the discussions and screenings also include input from the writer or screenwriter.

Previous Sessions
Saturday 20th October "Tsotsi" based on the novel by Athol Fugard aged 15 and over only for this screening
Saturday 10th November "The Hunger Games" based on the novel by Suzanne Collins
Saturday 8th December "Nick and Norah's Infinite Play List" based on the novel by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

Information about screenings in 2013 will be available soon.

Can't make it to our screenings? Why not set up your own film / book group?
