PLEASE NOTE: THE VENUE & TIME FOR THIS EVENT HAS CHANGED from CENTRAL LIBRARY at 6PM to INTERNATIONAL ANTHONY BURGESS FOUNDATION at 6.30PM.

Three brilliant contemporary Vintage poets showcase work from their excellent new collections which all explore themes of grief, lineage, and love. Latinx poet Leo Boix’s Ballad of a Happy Immigrant travels from Buenos Aires to Merseyside to London, focusing on queer experience, family, displacement, and the sea. Kayo Chingonyi’s A Blood Condition tracks an illness along its human trajectory, but also finds joy in music and dancing. While Andrew McMillan’s third collection, Pandemonium, considers the vulnerability and fierceness in caring for a loved one, death, bodies and how solace can be found in the garden.

Presented in partnership with Manchester Poetry Library and Centre for New Writing.

Please note: We have reduced the capacity at this venue to increase space between seats so everyone can enjoy the event safely. If you’d like to sit with friends, please book all seats together in the same transaction. Although masks are no longer mandatory under Government guidance, we strongly encourage everyone to wear one when in close proximity to others, particularly when entering and leaving the event. We also encourage everyone to use the sanitation stations and sign in using track and trace when they arrive.
