One half of electronic pop duo Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant has released 13 studio albums over the last four decades. He’s also proved himself to be one of Britain’s most witty and playful lyricists. In this special MLF event chaired by poet Andrew McMillan (Playtime, Physical), he discusses the art of song-writing and the joy of telling stories, his literary and musical influences, bringing politics and history into pop music, his collaborations with artists from David Bowie and Dusty Springfield to Derek Jarman, and his debut book One Hundred Lyrics and a Poem.
