Headshot of poet Patricia Smith

UNFORTUNATELY, PATRICIA SMITH'S FLIGHT FROM AMERICA HAS BEEN DELAYED, AND TONIGHT'S EVENT IS THEREFORE CANCELLED. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY BOOKED A TICKET, QUAYTICKETS WILL BE IN TOUCH SHORTLY TO ARRANGE A REFUND

Join us for an extraordinary evening of poetry. Award-winning American poet, Patricia Smith is the author of eight books of poetry, most recently Incendiary Art. An astonishing sequence of poems exploring the murder of Emmett Till serves as a backdrop for a passionate and lyrically inventive chronicling of more recent violence committed against African American men, and highlights the devastating impact on families and a nation.

Patricia will be supported by Manchester-based writer and performance artist Keisha Thompson. Drawing on her relationship with her father, Keisha’s new book of poetry, Lunar, explores the Black British experience, masculinity and mental health.

Doors open 6.30pm
