THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED

From Boudicea’s revolt against Roman occupation in AD60 to the protests following the Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2017, Resist tells historically accurate stories of key moments of British resistance, reimagining events through those involved rather than those who hold power. Contributors Steve Chambers (GLADIO: We Can Neither Confirm Nor Deny), Irfan Master (Out of Heart) and Karline Smith (Moss Side Massive) will read stories inspired by the 1936 Battle of Cable Street, the police killing of Blair Peach at an anti-fascism demonstration in 1979, and the Notting Hill Riots of 1958. They will discuss the effectiveness of uprisings in defeating the far-right, with Comma Press’s Ra Page.
