Ann Cleeves is one of Britain’s most popular crime writers, and her bestselling Vera Stanhope and Shetland series of novels have been adapted for acclaimed ITV and BBC dramas. With her cracking plots, sharp attention to detail, stunning sense of place and wonderful characterisation, Ann has been heralded as the natural successor to PD James and Ruth Rendell’s alter-ego Barbara Vine.

On the publication of her 30th novel, Cold Earth, in which the enigmatic Jimmy Perez discovers a dark secret buried on Shetland, we are delighted to host this special celebration of the Shetland novels and BBC One drama. Ann will be joined in conversation by Gaby Chiappe, lead scriptwriter on the series, and Alison O'Donnell, the actress who plays Tosh in Shetland. Chaired by host Carol Ackroyd.
