Tales from the Towpath Story Trail


Explore hidden, lost and imagined lives of Manchester with a story that links its waterways to The Royal Exchange and Midland Hotel. This self-guided tour uses GPS, QR codes, micro-projection and micro-print publication for a multi-sensory experience. Past collides with present, digital with print, to create an immersive reading of this most fascinating city. Maya Chowdhry is an award-winning writer and inTer-aCtive artist making work for radio, print and installation. Michelle Green is a multi-disciplinary artist specialising in poetry, spoken word, short fiction and participatory arts. Sarah Hymas’s writing has appeared in print, multimedia exhibits, dance videos, as lyrics and on stage. Helen Varley Jamieson is a digital artist, theatre practitioner and writer.

Please note that this story trail runs every day throughout the Festival, Monday 6th – Sunday 19th October.
