Manchester Literature Festival and the Confucius Institute at the University of Manchester are thrilled to present a conversation with the novelist and prize-winning indie film director Xiaolu Guo. Writing in both English and Chinese, she has published seven works of poignant and witty fiction, including A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers (shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction), UFO in Her Eyes, and Lovers in the Age of Indifference. An extract from her forthcoming novel I Am China was featured in Granta’s Best of Young British Novelists 4. Xiaolu will be in conversation with Katie Popperwell, Events and Marketing Officer for the Confucius Institute at The University of Manchester. You can also see a screening of the film adaptation of UFO in Her Eyes at Cornerhouse on Sunday 13th October.
