Manchester Literature Festival are offering young people, aged 12 – 16, a series of fun and exciting creative workshops featuring writing, beat-boxing, rapping and music. The workshops will be led by Testament, a Hip-Hop MC, poet, theatre maker and world record-breaking human beatboxer, and Balraj Samrai, Producer and Educator from Manchester’s award-winning Swing Ting party and record label.

You will develop skills and build self-confidence through writing, performance and creativity. Sessions will be relaxed, supportive and free of charge. The workshops are open to anyone aged 12 – 16 who would like to come along, whatever level of ability or experience.

We will meet every Tuesday from 25 February to 24 March 2020 at Z-arts.

On March 31 you’ll take part in a special live performance at Band on the Wall.

You will also have the option of undertaking an Arts Award qualification whilst being supported throughout the project by an Arts Award Advisor. You will create a portfolio or arts log that shows off your creativity and gives you a recognised qualification awarded by leading exam board Trinity College London.
